First "Real Job" Application

The "real world" is creeping up on me at light-speed. In just a matter of months, I will no longer be an undergraduate majoring in Advertising at the University of Florida. Instead, I will assume the role of successful brand builder, consumer connector, and marketing mogul -- or so I hope.

Interestingly enough, I am currently in the process of finishing up my application for Ogilvy & Mather's Associates Program, an exceptional opportunity that allows you to rotate through some of the most fundamental areas of advertising today -- Strategic Planning, Consulting, Production, and Account Management (which Ogilvy has recently rebranded as Program Management). The application is due this Friday, but with the Gators taking on the Oklahoma Sooners in the National Championship game in Miami on Thursday, you can bet those creative juices are flowing tonight -- induced or otherwise.

I was fortunate enough to intern with Ogilvy this past summer in Interactive Project Management, and I cannot even begin to describe to you how rewarding my experience was. Truth be told, it is one of the reasons I created this blog -- to recall those fondest of NYC memories and to expand on the insights I gather from my experiences in advertising, past and present. The more I review my application, the more I get excited about what the future may hold and the more I realize that marketing communications is what I am meant to do.

I know I would be honored to receive an invite to return to Ogilvy in August, especially since the office will be on new turf by the time I arrive and the idea of a rooftop garden is just icing on the cake :)

Here's keeping my fingers crossed that something good comes out of my 4 a.m. rantings. I know I am not unlike other people who find inspiration in the wee small hours of the morning, but it sure does feel like it lately.

Back to the juice!
